Grinnell College Students Create Special Connection Using Chopstick Master

We were absolutely thrilled to receive this wonderful note from Chris at Grinnell College telling us about the special way students are using Chopstick Master. What a brilliant idea! Check it out… “I just wanted to say thanks for helping me acquire the Chopstick Masters. We had to take down several very large trees that had grown on campus for quite some time. These were special trees and I wanted to find a way to use this wood that had such a special connection to our college. Although I have found many uses for the wood, most required skilled craftsmen or at least a considerable investment of time. I needed a way to get the wood in the hands of our students without a great time investment, but giving them a feel for what woodworking can be.  The Chopstick Master was the perfect solution. We had our first chopstick making event a couple of weeks ago and it was a huge success. I provided the blanks, and several college departments funded the purchase of the Chopstick Masters, including the Chinese and Japanese departments, the office of International Student Affairs, and the Institute for Global Engagement. The event was so popular it will probably become a fairly regular occurrence. Following is link to a small article on our website about the event:” Students Craft Chopsticks from Campus Trees
